TotalCross and Litebase 2.0 in beta releaseSuperWaba Team just started the tests with TotalCross and Litebase 2.0 beta releases. Both products already run over Windows mobile, Palm, Blackberry and iPhone. The new virtual machine, called TotalCross, has better performance due to a new instruction set that eliminates limitations in the existing SuperWaba virtual machine, with enhancements such as unlimited object size, preemptive threads and a new high-performance garbage collector that is 20X faster than the SuperWaba’s. Additionally, deployed files are now compacted, to acheive a 30% reduction in size over SuperWaba applications. New features were also added to the SDK, including enhanced network connectivity, management support, component editing with masks, and applications without GUIs, line and bar graphs, an unlimited sized anti-aliased fonts, along with support for screen rotation on devices like the Tungsten TX, Qtec, iPhone etc. Litebase 2.0 will provide enhancements such as new types, including null, blob and varchar; support for new operations like join, compound primary keys and indexes and multiple database connections.
